Baroka 2-2 Cape Town City
Baroka and Cape Town City shared the spoils in a four goal thriller in Saturday's Premiership clash at the Pietersburg Stadium in Polokwane.
It was a lively start from both teams as they had chances at both ends in the opening 20 minutes.
The hosts came closest to an opener as they had a one-on-one chance though City goalkeeper Peter Leeuwenburgh came to the rescue with a fine save in the early exchanges.
Around the 20th minute mark Bakgaga hit the woodwork though keeper Leeuwenburgh seemed to have it covered.
With that said, it was coach Benni McCarthy's men who hit the front as Keanu Cupido headed home at the far post from Bradley Ralani's fine cross.
In the 30th minute it was 2-0 to the Citizens as Kermit Erasmus found space before rifling a shot home into the bottom corner.
However, the home side hit back almost immediately as Mduduzi Mdantsane showed good instincts to pull his team back into the contest.
Just before the 40th minute mark Chris David went close from a free-kick but his strike whistled just wide of target.
Yet, Baroka were rallying magnificently and leveled in the 41st minute through Tshediso Patjie who struck home from Richard Mbulu's assist.
In the second stanza the chances largely dried up for both sides and McCarthy made his first change in the 62nd minute as Ralani came off for Craig Martin.
Bakgaga pressed in the final stages without really threatening in the final third on City's goal.
At the death Erasmus spurned a major opportunity to complete his brace as he went one-on-one with Elvis Chipezeze, but he failed to convert as the spoils were shared in Pietersburg.
