Tinkler: Harry Gwala has to be feared

Maritzburg United coach Eric Tinkler says he hopes to turn Harry Gwala Stadium into a fortress to ensure Premiership survival.

Maritzburg host Highlands Park at home on Friday night as they look to bounce back from the opening day defeat to Golden Arrows last weekend.

Tinkler revealed that his side are targeting at least 10 points from their opening five matches on their home patch.

Speaking to reporters, he said: "It's very important to bounce back, Harry Gwala has to be feared.

"We set up a target of our first five games, to try to collect at least 10 points. Unfortunately against Arrows we didn't collect any, so it makes Friday's match very, very important and all our home games.

"If we can win all our home games we finish in the top eight. We need to target at least ten wins, that guarantees already you're safe, so that's going to be our objective."

Kickoff in Friday's clash is from 20:00 in Pietermaritzburg.
