Tinkler: We will get better game by game

Maritzburg United coach Eric Tinkler has expressed confidence that his team will get stronger during the season despite them only picking up one point from their first two games.

The Team of Choice lost their opening Absa Premiership clash of the season as they went down 1-0 to Golden Arrows in a KZN derby before a 1-1 draw at home against Highlands Park saw them earn their first point of the season.

After the game against the Lions of the North, Tinkler told reporters he saw a lot of positives despite not getting maximum points.

Tinkler said: "I think so, like I said it before I look at both games from [Golden] Arrows to this one, I think we've got lots of strength.

"I look at my bench, they look good to me, I see a hell of a lot of positivity, but we are in the business of results so we will be judged by that.

"Our performances show that we had good pre-season. We will get better game by game, we were just unlucky."

Maritzburg United's next game is away to newly-promoted Stellenbosch FC on 26 August.
