Baroka v Bloem Celtic

Baroka FC will be looking maintain their unbeaten start to the Premiership campaign when they welcome Bloemfontein Celtic to Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Bakgaga have made an impressive start to their campaign, starting the season with a credible 2-2 draw against Benni McCarthy's Cape Town City before clinching a surprise 1-0 victory over Bidvest Wits.

Celtic, meanwhile, have experienced mixed fortunes thus far. Their season began with a 3-1 defeat to Orlando Pirates but they bounced back in emphatic fashion, romping to a 5-0 victory over Steve Komphela's Golden Arrows.

But they were brought back down to earth in the MTN8 quarter-finals as they were defeated 3-1 by reigning Absa Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

Baroka will not have assistant coach Bushy Moloi on the touchline this Sunday as he has not been offered a new deal.

Speaking to, Baroka manager Richard Mashabane confirmed the news: "He is no longer with us, his contract was not renewed."

The last meeting between these two sides at Peter Mokaba Stadium - on 10 February 2019 - resulted in a 2-2 draw.

Tshegofatso Mabasa scored a brace on that day, but has since moved on to Orlando Pirates.

However, Celtic have a capable goalscorer in Ndumiso Mabena and he has already got two goals to his name this season, having scored in the 5-0 trouncing of Arrows in the Premiership and the defeat to Sundowns in the MTN8.

Centre-back Mzwanele Mahashe has also shown his scoring threat, netting in their first two games of the season.
