Xoki: Amazulu improving game by game

Amazulu captain Tapelo Xoki says his side can build on their last performance as they gear up for their clash against Highlands Park on Tuesday.

Usuthu played out a gritty goaless draw against Orlando Pirates last Tuesday to pick up their first point of the campaign after starting the season with two defeats.

Xoki feels there are plenty of positives to take from the goalless encounter against the Soweto giants.

In quotes on Amazulu's website, Xoki said: "The performance was great - the effort was awesome, it was a strong will from everyone.

"They all gave their hundred percent so we only can improve from here.

"I believe that we're improving game by game. We are getting there, we’ve kept a clean sheet which is also good for the confidence of the team.

"Overall despite not yet getting a win there’s a lot of positives to count. We played our hearts out last week."

Xoki feels the game against the Lions of The North will be a tough one as they will present a physical challenge.

The Amazulu skipper went on: "It's not going to be an easy game for us, especially going away game, we will have to try to get some points away from home as early as we can this season.

"Highlands Park are a physical side, they play an old school type of football so we will have to be ready physically.

"No one is going to give away points for free, so we have to be ready to fight and to impose our will on everyone."
