Tinkler hails work ethic of Judas Moseamedi

Maritzburg United head coach Eric Tinkler has hailed the work ethic of Judas Moseamedi, saying the striker always plays for the team first.

Moseamedi's stats are not always great in the goals and assists column but his value to the Team of Choice has been immense this campaign.

The lanky forward has given defenses a tough time as his work rate and his general play has almost been unmatched.

Moseamedi only has three goals in the league this season but played a vital role as he helped Maritzburg reached the Telkom Knockout final which they lost to Sundowns.

Tinkler said in quotes published on the IOL website: "Judas is not a quitter and he works hard in every game.

"First and foremost, Judas doesn't play for Judas but he plays for the team.

"That is one of his biggest attributes, the biggest problem with other strikers all over the world is that they play for themselves."

Moseamedi has especially given PSL log leaders Kaizer Chiefs a tough time this season, having netted twice against the Amakhosi to dump them out of the Telkom Knockout and then scored again against them in a draw in the league.

Tinkler continued: "Strikers first play for themselves. Everything that Judas does is for the benefit of the team.

"If he doesn't play, he doesn’t complain. He sits there and he is the first one to encourage those that are playing. That’s the mentality that Juda has."
