Bidvest Wits v Bloemfontein Celtic

Bidvest Wits will be looking to extend their unbeaten run in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday when they host an in-form Bloemfontein Celtic.

The Clever Boys come into the clash at Bidvest Stadium having lost 2-1 at Al-Nasr in the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday, but they will take heart from their current league form.

Head coach Gavin Hunt's charges have not tasted defeat in their last six Premiership encounters and could close the gap to the top three to a single point with a victory.

Wits are still strong contenders for the league title as they have four games in hand over leaders Kaizer Chiefs.

Speaking about the extra workload the continental competition has put on Wits, Hunt told the media, "It's a little bit heavy and you can see it with the way we play.

"But we are enjoying the ride even though it does take its toll when you are looking for that extra ounce of energy. You are also looking for your best team and currently we don't have it with a lot of players out for a variety of reasons."

Meanwhile, Phunya Sele Sele have hit their stride this past week. They ground out a 2-1 win over Stellenbosch away from home before thrashing Black Leopards 4-2 on Sunday.

The consecutive wins helped boost Celtic up to fifth position in the standings, only three points behind fourth-placed Wits and head coach Lehlohonolo Seema is hoping to keep the good times rolling.

"We have built momentum well with our recent results and I hope the players can keep up their confidence," Seema told the press.

"Wits are a good team but we head there with no fear."
