Orlando Pirates v Highlands Park
Orlando Pirates will be targeting a third consecutive Absa Premiership win on Saturday when they host Highlands Park.
The Buccaneers are full of confidence heading into the tie after claiming victories against Polokwane City and most recently Mamelodi Sundowns.
Josef Zinnbauer's charges thrashed Polokwane 4-1 last week before grounding out a 1-0 win against the defending league champions on Wednesday to climb up to fifth position in the standings.
The victory over Sundowns was particularly pleasing for Pirates as it was the first time they had beaten a Pitso Mosimane-coached Masandawana after seven years of trying.
Now the Sea Robbers aim to build on that performance with another win which would see them put pressure on fourth-placed Bidvest Wits.
Meanwhile, Highlands Park are reeling after suffering two heavy defeats back-to-back. The Lions of the North were hammered 3-0 by league leaders Kaizer Chiefs before a shock 4-1 defeat at home against Stellenbosch FC last Saturday.
The consecutive defeats saw Owen Da Gama's men slip down to eighth in the standings and they will be desperate to stop the bleeding before they fall even further.
In the wake of the two losses Da Gama came under pressure which led to rumours that he had resigned as Highlands coach, but the club has since stated that there is no truth to the conjecture and that they are very happy with him as head coach.
Nonetheless, Da Gama will no doubt be eager to get his team back on the right track with a good performance at Orlando Stadium.
