Davids: It's the starting point for great things

Maritzburg United coach Fadlu Davids is hopeful that his side have their groove back after registering their first win against Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday.

Bandile Shandu scored the solitary goal of the match as the Team of Choice ended Phunya Sele Sele's unbeaten streak in the new season.

Maritzburg, who last season reached the final of Nedbank Cup and also finished fourth in the Premiership, were winless from their four opening games of the 2018/19 campaign.

The Team of Choice will be away to AmaZulu in their next Premiership encounter to be played at King Zwelithini Stadium next week Tuesday.

"I am very pleased, it's a third clean sheet in a row and like I said it's the starting point of great things to come from this team," Davids told his club website.

"Although I am happy with three clean sheets, we still have to work on shifting our movements and closing the spaces. Building the communication in terms of our attack is definitely what we have to focus on and work on so that we can get better in our upfront movement."
