Ndengane departs Bloem Celtic
Bloemfontein Celtic Chief Executive Officer Khumbulani Konco has confirmed the release of experienced centre-back Alfred Ndengane over money issues.
Celtic have been embroiled in financial problems in 2018/19 with reports emanating from the camp of players and staff regularly not receiving their wages on time.
Recently the players went on strike from training which seemingly contributed to Celtic's first defeat of the season against Maritzburg United in the Premiership.
Ndengane has been at Celtic for six seasons where he was an established first team regular and a rock at the heart of the Siwelele back four.
However, he is now a free agent with Orlando Pirates said to be interested in his services.
Konco said on the side's official website: "It is incredibly painful losing a player of Ndengane's calibre, however, after speaking to him for months trying to convince him to stay we realized he was adamant about his request to be released.
"I must emphasize though, that through negotiations for him to extend his stay and his ultimate decision to depart, there was no bad blood but rather amicable discussions through his manager.
"We, therefore, wish him all the best for his future endeavours and wholeheartedly thank him for his professional conduct and contribution towards the brand Celtic."
