Tinkler happy with progress at Chippa
Chippa United coach Eric Tinkler is happy with the progress made by the Chilli Boys since replacing Dan Malesela as coach in August.
The club on Wednesday clinched a 1-0 victory over Free State Stars in the Premiership and in the process registered a third clean sheet in a row.
The 48-year-old coach believes it was important that his side made good use of the home ground advantage at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, to get the three points against Ea Lla Koto.
"This is our third clean sheet. I still see errors, but going forward, we have to look at getting the players to move forward and get numbers in the box to score," Tinkler told his club social media account.
"I was disturbed in terms of our defensive shape in the first-half, but we tried to rectify it in the second-half and it got better.
"We are thrilled to get the three points. I explained the importance of that to the players. This is a beautiful pitch and it allows us to play carpet football."
