Xulu upbeat after Cape Town City draw
Maritzburg United captain Siyanda Xulu has insisted that there is cause for optimism following their 0-0 draw with Cape Town City.
The Team of Choice, who were the surprise package last season, have managed just one victory from their seven opening matches so far in the 2018/19 Premiership.
While Xulu was disappointed that they didn't get a goal in Friday's draw at Harry Gwala Stadium, he felt there were a lot of positives to take forward.
"It was a fair game from our side even though we wanted maximum points," Xulu told SuperSport.
"We were playing at home and needed a second win of our season, but it wasn't to be. We were playing against a very good side that is well structured and we will take the point.
"We defend well and the compliment should not go to only defenders. We are doing it as a team and then going forward as well, we should score goals. I had a few chances as well and should have buried away at least two of them.
"But again it goes back to being united, going forward and defending as a team, but we should keep grinding. I mean, we have not lost a game in five games."
