Mvala (14') gets first
Mbatha (68') nets second
Tlolane (85') pulls one back
It ends 2-1
The Lions of the North collected the three points after going 2-0 up following goals before the break and after half-time.
Puleng Tlolane pulled one back but it ended 2-1 on the night in Tembisa.
In the opening exchanges Namibia striker Peter Shalulile found Lindokuhle Mbatha in the box but he could not beat goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi in the opening 10 minutes.
It was 1-0 to the hosts when Mothobi Mvala scored after pouncing on an error by Akpeyi. The Chilli Boys came close to responding as Kurt Lentjies thought he had a chance to level from Daine Klate's pass, but the offside flag went up.
It ended the same score at the break as Mark Mayambela and Lentjies struggled for openings. As such, the Lions of the North made it 2-0 following the interval.
Mbatha was alert as he headed home from a cross. With that said, coach Eric Tinkler's men did find a response as Tlolane slotted home to make it a nervy finish.
Nonetheless, it ended 2-1 on the night to Owen da Gama's men at the Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa.
