Claasen boost for Clever Boys

Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt has confirmed that midfielder Daylon Claasen is back to full fitness after a long-standing battle with a knee injury.

The 28-year-old has been out of action since April, and Hunt revealed that he will be available for selection when his side takes on Free State Stars in the Telkom Knockout next weekend.

Hunt admitted that injuries have limited his options and he was forced to play Keegan Ritchie in a midfield for last weekend's 1-1 draw against Mamelodi Sundowns.

"He (Ritchie) is a brilliant midfielder, but has played left-back all his life‚" Hunt was quoted as saying by SowetanLive.

"We don't have much (in central midfield) but at least I have Claasen back now. We only had Cole (Alexander) and Thabang (Monare) and they've both done well for us but we need a little more in there.

"We will have that now going forward so that is good."
