Kavazovic handed reins at Ea Lla Koto
Premiership strugglers Free State Stars have confirmed the appointment of Nikola Kavazovic as their new coach on a two-and-a-half-year contract.
Ea Lla Koto parted company with Luc Eymael last month after a disappointing start to the season which saw them win just three of their opening 14 league matches.
David Vilakazi and Selaotse Mosala oversaw the 3-1 defeat to Orlando Pirates nine days ago, and the duo will remain on the coaching staff to assist Kavazovic.
The 43-year-old Serbian takes over the reins with Stars sitting just two points clear of the relegation zone in 13th place and begins his tenure with a home clash against league leaders Bidvest Wits on January 5.
"We really took our time in searching for the new coach, we made sure we chose the right man for the job," Stars general manager Rantsi Mokoena said in a statement.
"The coach brings vast experience to our league, having coached Botswana's Township Rollers and recently for the very first time in their history, Rollers qualified for the Champions League.
"He is a strong believer of youth players and what I also liked about the coach is that when he was introduced to the players he knew their names."
