Mabhuti Khenyeza joins Maritzburg backroom staff
Mabhuti Khenyeza has moved one step closer to realising his dream of becoming a first team coach after being named as Maritzburg United's new assistant coach on Thursday.
The 36-year-old announced his retirement earlier in the day, and wasted little time in making his move to Maritzburg, where he will work alongside the club's new head coach, Muhsin Ertugral.
Maritzburg took to Twitter to confirm the news, saying: "Maritzburg United are delighted to confirm the appointment of Mabhuti Khenyeza as assistant coach to Muhsin Ertugral."
Khenyeza is delighted to be moving onto the next chapter in his career, with a move into coaching something that has been on his radar for quite some time.
"Becoming a coach is something I always wanted to pursue after my playing career," said Khenyeza.
"I have kept an eye on the club over the years, and I am really happy to start my journey here."
