Double injury blow for Orlando Pirates
Orlando Pirates will be without the services of Abbubaker Mobara and Ben Motshwari ahead of Tuesday's Premiership clash with Chippa United.
Mobara was involved in a heavy 50/50 challenge during Saturday's 2-2 draw with Highlands Park, and subsequently misses out due to heavy bruising on his feet and legs.
The player has come back into favour in recent times in the right-back slot for the Sea Robbers, and missing out may come as a blow to his improving fortunes.
The 24-year-old will also miss his side's CAF Champions League Group B tie against FC Platinum this weekend.
Meanwhile, Motshwari is a longer term injury concern as he continues his recovery from a knee problem.
The defensive-minded player picked up his injury last November and it is unclear as to when he may make a return for Bucs.
The club's official website said: "Fortunately, the Bucs Medical Team have assessed the full extent of the injury and it has been revealed that Mobara will return within a week.
"Meanwhile, Orlandopiratesfc.com can also confirm that midfielder Ben Motshwari is still out of action as he continues to receive treatment on his knee injury. The hard-tackling midfielder is currently undergoing rehabilitation with the Strength and Conditioning Team and they will continue to monitor his progress."
Tonight's clash against the Chilli Boys is set to take place at Orlando Stadium from 19:30.
