Ndengane: Joining a club like Pirates is dream come true
Orlando Pirates central defender Alfred Ndengane has expressed joy at making his debut for the club as he never believed a move would go through.
Ndengane joined the Sea Robbers from Bloemfontein Celtic during the January transfer window and recently made his full debut for the side in a victory over Chippa United last Tuesday.
The player has in previous seasons been linked with a switch to Bucs although a move never transpired during that period for the 31-year-old.
Speaking to Pirates' official website, the defender said: "The club has been interested in me for some time now.
"Maybe two to three seasons now, but for whatever reason, the deal never happened.
"To be honest, I thought it would never happen. But look where I am now. I am here and I am pleased to be part of such a big institution.
"Joining a club like Orlando Pirates is a dream come true for me but more so for my wife because she is a huge supporter of the club.
"The way she was excited you would think she was the one that signed for the club."
The player could be in action on Saturday when Bucs take on Zimbabwe's FC Platinum in a Group B encounter at the Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo.
