Baroka sign veteran striker from NFD
Baroka chairman Khurishi Mphahlele confirmed the signing of veteran striker Siyabonga Vilane from National First Division outfit Uthongathi.
The 32-year-old was previously at Mpumalanga Black Aces and AmaZulu in the Premiership but has played for a number other sides as well lower down.
Nonetheless, the journeyman forward now has another chance to continue his career in South Africa's top flight with the Telkom Knockout champions.
Speaking to Kickoff, Mphahlele said: "Ja, we have signed him. It's six months plus a one-year option.
"But, ja, the boy is happy with that contract. He might play in their next game."
The veteran was Uthongathi's top goal-scorer in the NFD this campaign with six goals to his name in 2018/19.
Struggling Bakgaga will no doubt hope that Vilane can hit prolific form in the remaining games in the second half of the campaign.
Baroka are next in action on 22 January when they face title-chasing Orlando Pirates in the league.
