Nyirenda: 'We had a lot of knocks on the pitch'
Baroka FC coach Wedson Nyirenda dismissed accusations of time wasting, after steering his side to a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Orlando Pirates on Tuesday evening.
Bakgaga claimed an early lead through Matome Mabeba and showed a real determination to frustrate their opponents at every opportunity.
Their tactics did not go unnoticed by Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic, who suggested Nyirenda's men "were a bit delaying the time and going on the ground".
However, Nyirenda defended his players and highlighted the late knock suffered by Vusi Sibiya, which was ignored by the referee.
"We had a lot of knocks on the pitch," he told SuperSport TV after the match.
"But the referee was thinking we were doing it deliberately hence the last one he made a blunder because he was supposed to attend to the player and if there's nothing then we continue.
"I got the report that the boy passed out so if he died on that pitch then we're not being protected."
