Ertugral praises Chippa United duo after latest defeat

Maritzburg United coach Muhsin Ertugral has hailed Chippa United duo Thabo Rakhale and Tercious Malepe after his side's 2-0 loss to the Chilli Boys last weekend.

Ertugral has been unable to turn things around at The Team of Choice since replacing Fadlu David, and his side has now registered four straight losses since he joined them at the end of December.

Reflecting on his side's latest defeat at fellow struggles Chippa United, Ertugral couldn't help but acknowledge that he could do with the likes of Rakhale and Malepe in his squad.

“I've worked with Rakhale at Pirates,” said Ertugral, who coached the Buccaneers for just four months in 2016.

“He was one of my best players there. He makes things happen. I would like to work with him again."

And of Malepe, he added: "He as well is another player I would like to be with on my team. Him and Rakhale are top players."

Ertugral has little time to dream about what he would like his side to look like, however, as Maritzburg must try and turn things around when they face Witbank Spurs in the Nedbank Cup last-32 at Puma Rugby Stadium on Sunday.

“On the next game, I can't really say anything. We just need to adjust and prepare for survival,” the Turkish manager added.
