Mkhize not moving to Orlando Pirates from CT City

Cape Town City boss John Comitis has confirmed that Thamsanqa Mkhize's contract will be extended for at least a further season.

The club's captain has been a valuable asset for the Citizens, making 21 appearances in all competitions in 2018/19.

Orlando Pirates are said to have had the player on their radar however it is clear that the player will remain in the Mother City for the foreseeable future.

Comitis told Kickoff: "We're gonna extend his contract for another year, and we've got plenty of time to discuss the extension further.

"We will extend his contract with one more year because we've got an option, and during the course.

"From now plus another year we've got plenty of time to negotiate an extension thereafter."

When asked about reports linking the player with a switch to the Sea Robbers, he simply said: "It won't happen."

The player has been an ever present since moving to City from Maritzburg United in 2016/17, making, 59 league appearances.
