Chiefs make it two wins in a row after Leopards victory

Erick Mathoho produced a Man-of-the-Match performance to help the club record a hard fought 1-0 win over Black Leopards on Saturday night.

Daniel Akpeyi started in goal for Chiefs while Bruce Bvuma dropped out whereas Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya and Leonardo Castro were the other changes for the Glamour Boys.

In the 10th minute Zambia striker Lazarous Kambole shot wide but two minutes later Mathoho popped up to open the scoring.

From George Maluleka's corner he headed home strongly for his second of the season into the bottom corner.

In the 23rd minute Tshwarelo Bereng had a chance to level matters but he struck wide after evading the offside trap.

An injury to Leonard Castro saw Dumisani Zuma introduced to the fray though it didn't change the complexion of the game.

Soon after Mathoho, Bernard Parker and Samir Nurkovic fluffed great chances in quick succession.

In the second stanza Chiefs continued to dominate as Lebogang Manyama had a chance but could not beat Jonas Mendes in the penalty area.

Maluleka hit the crossbar late on but it was not important as Amakhosi recorded all three points in the contest.
