Solinas: Chiefs need to be more clinical

Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas has urged his Kaizer Chiefs side to be more ruthless in front of goal after their 0-0 draw with Maritzburg United.

Amakhosi were handed a major boost early on after Siphesihle Ndlovu was sent off in the 16th minute. However, they failed to capitalise on their numerical advantage at the Harry Gwala Stadium.

"It's a pity because this is a game to win. We created a lot of chances but in football you need to put the ball in the back of the net," Solinas told SuperSport after the game.

"The guys the put in the effort during the game. So everything is perfect, only the goal.

"We need more determination in the box. Our finishing needs more aggression and determination. We played well, we arrive near the box -- we need more accuracy.

"Every game is a lesson. In every game you learn something. We need to move the ball quickly because all the teams are staying behind the ball. The space is tight, we need movement. This is the lesson for today.

"Normally we learn from the training sessions. At the moment, we don't have the training sessions because we played a lot of games. But it's good that next week we have a full week available for us to prepare for our next game."

After five fixtures within the space of two weeks, Amakhosi now have some time to reflect before facing SuperSport United on 26 August at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in the MTN8 semifinals.
