Tau explains why he's happy with RUSG loan

South Africa attacker Percy Tau, who plays for Royale-Union Saint Gilloise on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion, has defended his move to Belgium.

Tau turned heads when he left South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns for Brighton only to go on loan to a second-tier Belgian side, but Tau has pointed out that going on loan has worked for him in the past.

During his spell at Sundowns, he went on loan to Witbank Spurs before returning to his parent club and setting the Premiership alight.

"All is well in Belgium. We are on top of the log at the moment. We have had good performances in the cup and league and I believe that we are beginning to get stronger as a team," Tau was quoted as saying by the South African Football Association's official website.

"People will always have opinions on things and they are entitled to that. I am happy with this path I have chosen (agreeing to go on loan to Royale Union Saint-Gilloise) because I have done it before and things worked out in my favour.

"I once went out on loan to Witbank Spurs and things worked out pretty well for me later on."

Tau will be hoping to inspire Bafana Bafana as they face Seychelles in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header on Saturday and Tuesday.
