Hunt hints that Kaizer Chiefs want Keet
Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt has suggested that Kaizer Chiefs have an interest in signing goalkeeper Darren Keet when his contract expires in June.
Keet joined Wits two-and-a-half years ago from Belgium outfit KV Kortrijk and has established himself as one of the finest keepers in the Premiership.
However, he has declined to sign a new deal with the Clever Boys and subsequently has been linked with a move to Chiefs.
Nonetheless, reports suggest the Bafana Bafana number two is said to prefer a switch back to Europe as he still has ambitions of taking his career to the next level.
Hunt told reporters: "No, I haven't [spoken to Keet]. Maybe Kaizer Chiefs [have], I heard they want to sign him, so we'll see."
When quizzed about Wits' transfer plans in January, he added: "No, that's all coming later. We have to try and work with what we've got and go again [after the Chiefs defeat] and try and get another 32-33 points, if we can.
"We don't have any more money to sign, I'll have to sell first before we do anything there, so we'll do that if we have to. But right now, no, there's nothing. We'll just keep going."
The Students are next in action in the league on 20 January when they face Polokwane City at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Pietersburg.
