Maluleka: 100% not good enough in Soweto derby
Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Maluleka says every player has to go above and beyond the call of duty when playing in a Soweto derby.
The combative Maluleka is expected to play an influential role when Kaizer Chiefs take on Orlando Pirates in Saturday's Premiership clash at FNB Stadium.
It will be the 30 year old's ninth derby appearance since his arrival from SuperSport United five seasons ago.
He told reporters: "I'm always ready [for a Soweto Derby]. You need to always bring your A-game in matches of this calibre, make fewer mistakes and just give it your all.
"100 per-cent is not good enough in such matches, and I think the rest is up to the [match] officials really, because as players we always go into these matches wanting to give it our all. Obviously, not wanting to disappoint our supporters, our family members and so forth.
"It's going to be a difficult one, but I think we're ready for it, definitely."
Kickoff between the two fierce rivals is set to get underway from 15:30 in Johannesburg.
