Galaxy's boss once played for Kaizer Chiefs
TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi has revealed he is supporter of Kaizer Chiefs and once played for the club ahead of Saturday's Nedbank Cup final at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Galaxy have the chance to win their first trophy in existence since they took over the status of FC Cape Town in the National First Division just around a year ago.
Nonetheless, the club's founder admits he is a Chiefs fan though it would be a massive achievement if his side could take home the trophy.
He told Kickoff: "No one has ever asked me that question before. When you grow up you know only two football clubs to be honest, Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates.
"So I picked up Kaizer Chiefs and I even had the opportunity to play for their reserve side under Ryder Mofokeng way back then.
"That's the club I grew up knowing. Marks Maponyane was a superstar back then. I really loved watching him, so yes that was my club.
"It would be such a fulfillment and it would talk to the belief I always have that 'nothing is impossible'. If you believe in it, you'll earn it.
"I never imagined it, in my time growing up and supporting Chiefs and playing for the reserves, that I'd be here. Even on day one of starting TS Galaxy, I never thought that within 10 months of being in the professional ranks that we would play Kaizer Chiefs in a final of the national cup in the form of the Nedbank Cup. So all this happened because of faith, belief and hard work."
Kickoff is 19:00.
