Professor Ngubane tells Musonda to focus on Leopards

Black Leopards team manager Mlungisi 'Professor' Ngubane has revealed he told want-a-away striker Mwape Musonda to focus on honouring his contract with Lidoda Duvha.

Musonda ended the 2018/19 campaign as the Premiership's leading scorer and chairman David Thidiela has since said the Zambia star is available for sale but other clubs must pay a bag full of money.

Nonetheless, Leopards have started pre-season and the 28-year-old is still currently a part of the squad as it appears no offers have yet come in for the Zambian, who netted 18 times in 31 matches in all competitions last season.

Ngubane told Kickoff: "Although we can't confirm anything now, he is with the team. As you know, he's got a contract with the team.

"You know you can only worry if somebody wants you. At the moment nothing is happening. I was even talking to him this morning that he needs to focus.

"If anything comes the chairman is willing to talk. He can't stand in his way. The chairman wants to see him progress.

"If he does the right thing he will go with the chairman's blessing. So for now he is going to focus here and train with the team. We don't talk about going because he's got a contract."
