Team of Choice eye Makaringe and Ndlovu replacement
Maritzburg United are assessing former Bidvest Wits midfielder Daylon Classen as a possible replacement for Fortune Makaringe and Siphesihle Ndlovu.
Makaringe and Ndlovu have moved on to Orlando Pirates whereas Claasen was not offered a new contract when his deal with the Clever Boys expired.
The 29-year-old did not enjoy the most successful stint with coach Gavin Hunt's side as he scored just one league goal in 32 Premiership appearances.
Nonetheless, he has the chance to prove his worth to coach Eric Tinkler and his technical team.
A source told Kickoff: "Classen has joined Maritzburg United for their pre-season training.
"He could be the right candidate to replace Siphesihle Ndlovu who left the club to join Orlando Pirates."
United have already signed Phumlani Ntshangase in midfield whereas former Orlando Pirates and Chippa United star Thamsanqa Sangweni is on trial.
