Mosimane wants to get new signing up to speed
Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says he is waiting for new signing Mauricio Affonso to get fit so the striker can be integrated into the squad as soon as possible.
Affonso, who hails from Uruguay, signed for Masandawana in the off-season but then picked up an injury not long after.
The forward is yet to make an appearance this campaign and Mosimane revealed that it will take time for Affonso to get use to his teammates.
Mosimane said, according to Kickoff: "We are waiting for that guy to be on the pitch and train. I want to see him kicking the ball, I haven't seen him kicking the ball.
"So hopefully he recovers well, but we are working a little bit more with him now.
"I was just working with him and my analyst on how the team plays. He needs to be able to understand how Vila (Sibusiso Vilakazi) plays, how Mshishi (Themba Zwane) plays, how [Gaston] Sirino plays.
"It's not an easy thing that you bought a player and then you fit him in. They don't fit in easily and it takes time. It's not easy. That’s how why we decided to stay away from buying a lot of players.
"How are you going to make it gel? It takes time, and you can see with other clubs that bought many players that some haven't even played."
Sundowns will take on Bloemfontein Celtic in an MTN 8 clash later on Saturday.
