Bafana drop one place on latest FIFA rankings
South Africa have dropped down one position on the latest FIFA world rankings, down to 71st globally.
Bafana rose to 70th following their quarter-final berth at the Africa Cup of Nations, but since they have not been in action since 25 July after their matches in the recent international break were cancelled, Saudi Arabia have overtaken South Africa.
Bafana will have an opportunity to rise in the rankings next month during the scheduled 2021 AFCON qualifiers between October 7-15.
South Africa have been drawn with Ghana, Sudan and the winner of the clash between Mauritius and Sao Tome in Group C.
At 20th on the rankings, Senegal remain Africa's top-ranked team while AFCON winners Algeria is at 38.
Belgium top the rankings ahead of France, Brazil, England and Portugal.
