Manyama keen to build up momentum for the new year
Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Lebogang Manyama is confident the Glamour Boys can maintain their fantastic early season form into 2020.
Amakhosi have built a seven-point lead at the top of the standings and also have two games in hand on second-place SuperSport United.
They have won 10 of their opening 12 fixtures to leave the rest of the league trailing by a huge margin.
Their defending has been especially impressive, having leaked just seven goals in the league so far. Matsatansa have conceded almost twice that amount.
January is going to be a tough month for the club, with six fixtures in the 31-day period, and Manyama wants them to build momentum that will carry them through it.
"We want to try and take six points from these last games because there will be a tough schedule with big games in January," he said.
"It’s very important to keep the momentum going. It is another important game, another three important points for us, so we have to try and do our best."
"Obviously, it is another tough game against a very good team. One of the teams who play the best football in the country. I have watched them a few times. They have some good players.
"But it is another chance for us to get three points and extend the gap and obviously try to keep our momentum going and make our fans happy."
