Komphela: Polokwane will throw everything at Arrows
Golden Arrows head coach Steve Komphela has made it clear that his players will be ready for a real battle against Polokwane City on Sunday afternoon.
Rise and Shine are struggling at the bottom of the Absa Premiership table but Komphela has warned against underestimating Clinton Larsen's charges.
"They are fighting for their lives and they will throw everything at you. It's not going to be different and worse, we are playing against our former coach Clinton Larsen," said Komphela, as quoted by KickOff.
"He knows most of the players, he knows how we play and he's also a very smart coach. Even in their previous matches they've played, they might've lost but they put up a good fight in the derby.
"So we are going there knowing that it's going to be difficult. Weather conditions as well, but we are ready."
Polokwane come into the home game having lost against Orlando Pirates and Baroka FC in their last two outings, but Komphela believes that makes them especially dangerous.
He added: "Even us we had lost a couple of matches in a row and were desperate to get a win so they are in the same mood where they say 'gentlemen we can't lose this one' and there's a statement they use that 'abontanga yethu laba [these are our peers], if we lose to these ones who are we going to beat?'
"So it's going to be more difficult, but we are prepared for that."
The Premiership clash at Peter Mokaba Stadium will get underway today at 15h30.
