Xoki: PSL position has left a bitter taste
AmaZulu defender Tapelo Xoki admits it has been difficult enduring the lockdown knowing the club are stuck in 15th place on the Premiership standings.
Usuthu picked up just 23 points in their 24 PSL games and are just three points from bottom-side Black Leopards.
Assuming the league is able to restart, AmaZulu will have six games to save their top-flight status.
Speaking to the club's official website, Xoki said being in 15th place "left a bitter taste" in the players' mouths.
He explained: "It has not been easy for us as footballers especially in the beginning. As footballers, we are used to going out and play football and get to smell the grass and rain.
"We had to stay at home and exercise which is something we were not used to, but we had to adjust to the situation.
"The fact that we are in the 15th spot left a bitter taste in our mouths because it doesn't sit well with us when we look at the log.
"It has been at the back of my mind throughout this situation, but we understand that we have to comply with the lockdown regulations and avoid risking lives."
