Preview: Polokwane City v Black Leopards
Polokwane City will have revenge on their minds when they meet Black Leopards at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Sunday's only Absa Premiership fixture.
In the first meeting between these two teams this season, Leopards claimed a 1-0 victory, although since then Rise and Shine have enjoyed a lot more success than Lidoda Duvha.
Polokwane are currently sitting pretty in sixth place with 37 points and a chance to move level with Cape Town City in fourth place should they win, while Leopards are down in 12th place, still not certain of their survival in the South African top flight.
Polokwane coach Jozef Vukusic says they have done the necessary preparation and ready for the task that lies ahead.
“I think we are prepared, we work a lot on tactic, game tactic and for fitness. I am worried, but for us it’s a game like other games, I hope it will be a good game for the fans,” he said.
Black Leopards have been out of action for nearly a month as a result of the international break, but coach Dylan Kerr revealed they have played two friendly games to maintain their fitness and momentum.
“The international break and Nedbank Cup can take some momentum away from the previous game played against Chippa, we played two good friendlies, very competitive friendlies and we did very well," said Kerr. "You know we got a tough running now. We have five games in 20-days, we concentrate on Polokwane which is this coming Sunday, local derby. The game is going to be special to the people of Limpopo, so we going to hopefully win.”
