Orlando Pirates v Polokwane City

Having put in eye-catching performances in their last two games against Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs, Polokwane City are back in Soweto this weekend, this time to face Orlando Pirates.

The game is scheduled for 8.15pm on Saturday, and will be played at Orlando Stadium.

The Sea Robbers have been on a good run of form of late, and have only been beaten once since going down 3-1 to Sundowns at the beginning of November. Currently, they sit on two consecutive wins, and the Pirates faithful will be forgiven for being confident they can win a third game on the trot.

But, ever the pragmatist, Bucs coach Milutin Sredojevic played down his club's recent run of form.

"Football is a game that has no logic. Sometimes one plus one in football is not two. Also, two behind that is not meaning that it’s three [sic]," the Serb was quoted by KickOff.

"We need to inject elements of confidence that, after months, for the first time we have two consecutive wins, and after I don't know how long that we have scored three goals in consecutive games.

"This needs to be a motivation, but in the same moment we need to send a strong message in our heads that in football nothing is guaranteed.

"Every new match is a new ball game, and we have the highest degree of respect to Polokwane City, who we are playing [next]," he said.

"Both matches we have played this year has been thrilling, meaning the opponent could score and we could score. Now we need to tighten at the back and make it more effective in front of goal.

"We want to continue where we left off against Sundowns on Saturday," Sredojevic added.

Rise and Shine are also enjoying some good form recently, and boast the league's leading goalscorer in Rodney Ramagalela, and will be confident of leaving Orlando Stadium with all three points.

The Limpopo-based team have two wins from their last three games, and three points could see them become a serious contender for a top-eight finish.

Polokwane coach Bernard Molekwa has a full squad to select from for the game, while the only player Sredojevic will be without is goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands, who is currently nursing an achilles injury.
