Maritzburg v AmaZulu
Maritzburg United will be desperate to pick up all three points when AmaZulu make the trip to Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg on Friday evening.
The Team of Choice are rooted to the foot of the Absa Premiership standings, having collected just three points from their last nine fixtures.
United picked up those three points in the 3-1 home victory over Polokwane City on February 8, and will be hoping for a repeat of that performance and result when Usuthu come to town.
However, they can expect a stern test from an AmaZulu side still smarting from a 4-1 defeat to Orlando Pirates last Saturday.
That defeat to the Buccaneers came after impressive wins against Mamelodi Sundowns and Cape Town City FC, and Usuthu will be wary of the fact that another would see them dragged into a relegation scrap.
The stakes are high for both teams and with this being a KwaZulu-Natal derby, the Friday night clash is bound to be a closely-contested affair.
Maritzburg midfielder Miguel Timm has admitted this is a must-win game for his side, telling KickOff.com: "It's my first KZN derby and a must-win match for us, we are going there to fight, we need those three points."
AmaZulu captain Nhlanhla Vilakazi, meanwhile, has warned Maritzburg to expect a tough battle.
"We know they are in a tough situation, unfortunately we also need results especially coming from a very tough loss [against Orlando Pirates] so we want to get maximum points," he told KickOff.com.
"Under the new coach they are really playing well with exciting players, it won't be easy especially as they are fighting for relegation, but we are ready for them.
"We also have players who can face any attack. Derby games are not easy and there are no favourites. This one will be even tougher, there's more at stake."
