Motaung explains Khuzwayo exit
Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung says that Brilliant Khuzwayo left the club because he is no longer a spring chicken, and wants regular playing time.
Khuzwayo, who is a Bafana Bafana international, has been in the shadow of undisputed number one Itumeleng Khune during his six years with the Glamour Boys.
Since joining Chiefs in 2012, the 28-year-old has played just 37 times for the team and yet has still managed to impress despite the limited game-time.
Nonetheless, the player announced his exit last weekend after playing in the 2-1 victory over Ajax Cape Town, and subsequently Motaung has explained the reasons why.
Speaking to the club's official website, he said: "Brilliant Khuzwayo approached the club asking for a blessing to move to another club at the end of the current season.
"The main reason for his departure is for an opportunity play more games because he is not getting any younger.
"Brilliant gave us his all and we’ve given him our support throughout his stay with us. When a player has been good to the club and asks to spread his wings, we have to respect his wish.
"Khuzwayo thanked the chairman, his teammates, staff and supporters for welcoming him and helping him fulfill his childhood dream of playing for the club he grew up supporting.
"We would like to wish Brilliant well in his future endevours. We thank him for his dedication and outstanding service to Amakhosi."
